Join Sean Brock, James Beard Award winner and Executive chef of Husk and McCrady’s, and Joseph Lenn Executive Chef at the Barn at Blackberry Farm as they work their culinary magic. The evening will embody the expression of these innovative chefs’ cooking that is as deeply rooted in Appalachian tradition, as it is the high culinary world. It will be an unforgettable eating experience!

Join the Magpies bakers as they share some extraordinary ideas about what you can do with bacon while baking. Learn how to bake blueberry buckwheat bacon cupcakes with maple buttercream and bacon shortbread!

Magpies is all butter, all the time. Knoxville’s favorite full-time cake bakery, making dee-licious celebration cakes and cupcakes fresh every day using the finest ingredients. The workshop will be a chance to see the bakery and learn how to incorporate the fatty, salty-ness of bacon with some stellar desserts!

SMOKEHOUSE DISCUSSION 2:00 at the Glowing Body:

Join our panelists for a discussion about all things smoke from sourcing, to traditions, to methods. Ask questions and hear about the history and tradition of smoking meat. Jennifer Niceley of Riverplains Farm will moderate a discussion with Tracey Monday of Laurel Creek Farms, Allan Benton from Benton’s Smoky Mountain Country Hams, and other meat smoking connoisseurs. THE Bacon Cook Off! Open to the public: YOU are invited to enter your favorite bacon dish in a select category. Show off your culinary skills. Go crazy with bacon! Judges will crown the winners! The Knoxville Public House will host an evening culminating our weekend of bacon good-ness. We will celebrate our culinary guests, have inspired small plates, and a special evening of spirits from Corsair Artisan Distillery. Preservation will be the theme for the evening. Knoxville chefs will work together to bring us a bar food like we’ve never seen it before. It will be a wow inducing evening of food and spirits! Surprise tastings from Corsair Artisan are included in the ticket price. There will be a full cash bar including signature cocktails for the evening.
